Okay, so I took way too long off of the blog while waiting for confirmation of the big news, and really it’s not even that big of news in some sense. Half of my readership (all one of them) thought that Lisa and I were pregnant. Another friend thought maybe it was that big house we’ve been pining after.
Nope – we got a new car! It’s a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, in a cherry red. Well, according to Jeep, it’s “Inferno Red Tinted Pearl Coat,” but whatever you call it, it’s pretty and shiny. We also kept our Sunfire, so now we’re a two-family car for the first time in about two years. We had a second car out in Virginia, but it was a really old Daihatsu that broke down and it was cheaper to get it towed to the junkyard than it would have been to fix it. Overall, it’s quite exciting. Lisa finally has a car that she can enjoy, that makes her happy, and I have a nice non-beater car that is reliable to get me to and from work.
That’s the big news. No baby, no new house, a new car. That doesn’t make it any less exciting to us though. It’s good stuff.
On a side note, John Mayer and They Might Be Giants have been on my playlist a lot lately. They don’t sound anything like each other, but they’re both recent acquisitions that I’ve been infatuated with. Good stuff.
