This was one of my three-day weekends (like every other weekend), not due to the holiday or anything, but just because that’s how it works at my job. I love it.
Friday, I slept in a little, then worked on our checkbook paying bills and such, then met my mom for lunch. I hadn’t seen her in a few weeks, so that was nice. After, I played some Guitar Hero and WoW until Lisa got home. We went and saw Anthony perform The Seven Last Words of Christ at a Methodist church with this amazing choir. It was quite awesome to see live performance again, something we haven’t done in awhile. Lisa has some great thoughts on the topic. After that, we had dinner with Anthony and Audra at Yen Ching. Since the four of us play a ton of WoW, there was much discussion. I got a lot of teasing because most of my “armor” looks like ladies evening wear. Seriously, the mooncloth robe is a nice piece of gear, but guys shouldn’t wear it. Seriously.
Saturday consisted of way the heck too much WoW, way more than I should have, but some days just work out like that. Lisa had to work from 8am-4pm, so I got up and logged in at about 7:45am for the weekly Scholomance run that’s been going on for a few weeks now. That ended somewhere around 3pm, and then after doing some cleanup of stuff in my bags and such, well, Lisa got home so I logged out. That evening we went to a friend’s house in the valley for a medium-sized party. It was a lot of fun, and driving back to my old “stomping grounds” brought on waves of nostalgia. Lisa spent a lot of time in the valley as a kid as well, so we were both remarking on how much had changed, and yet, how much was still the same. After we got home, I spent some time with my tablet drawing some stuff. See the prior post for the resulting product.
Sunday was a big sleep day. I think I was asleep until 10:00am or 10:30am or something. We were one of the providers of food at Lisa’s aunt’s family get-together for Easter. I don’t know how, but it seemed to me like Easter didn’t even really happen this year. I didn’t see much buildup (but I don’t go shopping a ton either), and not having a child of our own or anything, there wasn’t much to do in the way of prep. We took some food over, and spent some time there, eating and talking and such. I got to show our Pilot off to Lisa’s cousins, who are very seriously into their cars. They each took it for a short drive, and had nothing but glowing remarks as to how well it handled and rode and whatnot. Hearing comments like “This is as smooth as your Lexus” and “Wow” from these two was quite the ego boost. After that, we went to the mall, which was mostly closed. We walked around Sears for awhile, being amused and remarking at how empty most sections were, and then we went into Barnes & Noble. So many books I want to buy, not enough time or money. Then, we came home and played yet more WoW. It’s better than just watching TV, right?
I’m still quite pleased with my tablet’s results. I may have to try yet more doodling and pseudo-painting and such. Also, I wouldn’t mind investing some time in photography again soon. I’ve never exactly been serious with it, but I do like to take photos (as evidenced by the 690+ I’ve uploaded from my phone in the past ~2 years), so it’d be neat to work on something specific to that. I just got an idea as to something related to that, so maybe there’ll be some more pictures up here soon.
