New Honda! Again!

As previously mentioned, Lisa and I were looking at a Civic LX. The one we wanted showed up on Monday at the dealership, but we weren’t able to get it until Tuesday. We went in, and there it was, all shiny and new and pretty, just waiting.

After being there for a few minutes, our dealer pointed out another car – a Honda Accord LX Special Edition that they’d gotten in. Basically, it was everything that the Civic had, with a bigger body, better stereo, and a good bit more comfortable inside. In fact, we’d driven one very similar to it when we first decided on the Civic.

However, there was one big difference from the last time: Honda had some crazy deal going that dropped the price of the Accord to only around $1000 more than the Civic.

At this point, price wasn’t really an issue. Actually, the Accord was cheaper per month. Seriously, I don’t know why they were running this deal, because it seems too good to be real.

We spent an easy 30-45 minutes talking about it. We couldn’t decide. In the end, what it boiled down to was that I preferred the exterior of the Civic, and the interior of the Accord. Since more of my time spent with the car will be in the interior, I couldn’t help but lean to the Accord, but something in me still wanted the Civic.

In the end, the thing that pushed me over the edge was that the Accord has steering wheel mounted stereo controls. I can still get the iPod connector in either, so that wasn’t a big deal.

While I don’t have a picture of my own car (each time I get home now, it’s too dark out to take a good picture), here’s the shot of my car from the Honda site.

It’s awfully fun to drive. I went to my mom’s house today so she could see it, but also as an excuse to open it up on the freeway. I easily took it up to 70 without much effort, and without realizing I got it to 70. Our freeways are all 65, so I wasn’t speeding too bad, and I did slow down when I noticed, but man is it great. I’m having a lot of fun.

Also, I’m hoping to get a much less ugly version of the site up soon. I promise.

So, there you have it! I shall be posting more pictures soon, I am sure. It’s much more sporty looking than I’d have imagined when I think about the Honda Accord. It’s kind of like a big Civic.
