  1. Harry Potter wand quiz

Something about the OKCupid quizzes is really enjoyable. I like to post them. Two in one week even! I really enjoy the Harry Potter series, so I especially enjoyed this quiz.

11 2/3″, Oak, Veela You scored 52 wisdom, 22 bravery, 15 emotional, and 22 martyrdom!

Oak signifies wisdom, endurance, protection, and authority. The [...]

  2. Deaths

If I’ve seemed somewhat out of character or off recently, it’s because the past week or two has been really stressful.
You see, on July 17th, I got a call that my uncle in Iowa died. Larry Porter, 61, awesome guy who’d just recently quit smoking. Heart attack beat him down, he was in the hospital, [...]

  3. Three variable funny test

I liked the concept of this test quite a bit. I’d say the results are pretty accurate. I don’t normally post such things to my blog here, but this one was one I enjoyed so much that I wanted to share it about as much as I could.

    the Ham (39% dark, 47% spontaneous, 11% [...]

  4. Skype vs. Gizmo Project update

So, a few days ago, I had a post about Skype vs. Gizmo Project. I’ve had both up and running a good deal lately, although I haven’t used either that much, simply because I just never seem to be on with friends. However, I’ve got another observation or two, since I’ve now actually used Gizmo [...]

  5. Irony

Go figure – I make a post about things being slow, and then things get nasty busy at work again. I’m never doing that again.

  6. Slow Day

I’m really not sure what to post about, but I feel an urge to post, so here goes.
I’ve had work and such at work today, but it’s felt incredibly slow. I’m afraid that these last fifteen minutes are going to roughly feel like fifteen decades.
In some ways, I’m hoping that tonight goes really slowly as [...]

  7. Skype vs. Gizmo Project

This post was initially a reply to a friend on their LiveJournal, but I put enough time into it, so I thought I’d make a full-out blog post out of it. Keep in mind that this is all personal observation and thoughts, so for the most part, your mileage may vary.
For those of you not [...]

  8. The third shot is awesome

    Jumping pictures are awesome.
    Cats are awesome.
What do you get when you mix jumping pictures and cats?
    An awesome overload.

(I don’t want my blog to turn into a linkblog so much, but I hear about and find so many awesome things I must share with the world.)

  9. Be your own Hotspot

In a recent post, I summarized my trip to California, which included mentioning how we posted to the Internet from the car. That was awesome as it was, but imagine a whole caravan of cars driving along, all online via a portable WiFi Hotspot. That would have sounded ludicrous to me, until I read this:
    Be [...]

  10. Fast weekend

This weekend seemed to breeze by. Highlights include:

Seeing War of the Worlds. It was pretty good as that sort of movie goes. I’m generally not an action sorta guy, but it worked well. I don’t think it was up to par with Spielberg’s quality in general, but it was enjoyable.
    Purchasing a bike. Lisa and I [...]
