Life, code, and everything from Brian Arnold

  1. On stuff

On first draft of this post, I was going to write and contrast my Friday predictions with what the weekend had in store, but then I realized that I didn’t really predict anything, so, here’s a quick weekend recap, as well as some other paragraphs all starting with the word “On”.
On Friday, Lisa and I [...]

  2. Ruby on Rails and the weekend

I don’t understand why I go back and forth with blog postings. Some weeks, I’m just full of ideas. Others, I don’t have anything.
This week at work has been busy but also uneventful. I don’t feel like I’ve gotten as much done as I’d have liked. That bothers me.
For the coders out there, I started [...]

  3. Life is random

Unless you actually watch my Flickr photostream or my TextAmerica moblog, you probably didn’t notice this image. Let me give you the large version.

It’s funny because on my screen, that’s much, much larger than the actual iPod shuffle. Lisa and I both picked one up this weekend. They only had one of the 1GB models [...]

  4. Streamin’

Once again, this post is here merely because I wanted to update, but wasn’t sure what to say.
After being so excited about it that I posted about it, I managed to forget that last night was the Survivor: Palau premier. My sister-in-law called asking about it, which reminded me just in time, and now my [...]

  5. Upgrades-a-go-go

So, this is the first post I’ve written using WordPress 1.5, at least on this blog. I’ve upgraded and done a fast port of my old theme to the new system, so for all intents and purposes, the differences nearly don’t exist. You get extra credit if you can identify the one part that’s changed [...]

  6. Weekend in progress

I figured I’d post for once on the weekends. It’s not something I seem to do often. Then again, I don’t post often anyways, or at least as often as I’d like.
I woke up late this morning, around 8:45am. I know some people who read this would consider that early, but it’s late as compared [...]

  7. Under the Sea

I can’t begin to tell you how exciting the prospect of the Poseidon Undersea Resorts is to me. It sucks to think that it’ll be $1500 a night, as that means I won’t be staying there anytime soon, but man, wouldn’t that be awesome? Go check out the site. Seriously.

  8. Something

I felt the need to post something. I don’t know what, however. Consider this little post as something.
I didn’t sleep well at all this weekend, but last night (being the Sunday night to Monday morning, I don’t class it as the weekend) I slept really well, almost too well. It was really hard to get [...]

  9. FReD FM

This post might not hold much relevance to the non-locals, but I figured it’d be interesting enough to share.
Generally, when I’m sitting at work, I listen to my entire work collection of music on random. Right now, according to iTunes, it’s 1695 songs, 4.6 days, 6.70GB. That’s not too bad – I have a few [...]

  10. My wife is so beautiful

Normally I try to leave at least a few hours between posts, but I just can’t help myself. I’m sitting here balancing our checkbook, and Lisa started playing the piano, and it’s just such a beautiful thing to hear.
I am one of the most blessed guys on the face of the earth, to have such [...]

  11. Much music

When I signed up for the free iPod deal, I signed up with BMG Music and received seven CDs for only shipping! Okay, I know it’s not that big of a deal, but I managed to get a few CDs I’d been wanting. I brought them with me to work today and have been ripping [...]

  12. Twenty-six and counting

First, the obligatory image from the PBF archive:

So, I’ve completed another year of life. I’m happy that I’m still alive. I always said I wanted to be 25, and now I’ve been there and done that, and it was pretty good overall. I didn’t lose the weight I wanted to, but well, that’s what this [...]
