I can’t believe I forgot yesterday to post about the rain. Lisa came with me to UNM yesterday, and at around 1:45 it started sprinkling. By the time I got out of class at 3:15 it was a downpour. The streets were somewhat flooded for the most part as we drove home - many streets had at least a few inches worth of water, which for New Mexico is the flood of the century. It was awesome.
We woke up this morning to more of the same - the rain storm had continued well through the night and into the morning. It was somewhere around 9:00am that I noticed that the rain had stopped. It was awesome to have so much water come down. Unfortunately, New Mexico does this thing where it will be really cold in the morning (such as today), but really warm in the afternoon, so you can’t easily dress for the weather unless you do layers and a jacket. It was very nice to get the rain.
In work news, I’m now working on doing some reporting using Crystal Reports. If you can recommend any good reference materials, such as books or online sites, that would be most appreciated. I’m doing well enough with the material provided to me by looking through other reports at work, but any extra information is always a bonus.
That’s it, time for bed.

I would rather recommend you learn Business Objects, as Crystal Reports was bought out by them this summer, and will probably disappear in the near future. If you are confined to CR though, let me know. It was widely used here at AOL (until everyone started using Business Objects).
Well see, the thing is - while I love my job, we seem to have this attachment to older technology. We’re using Win2K as our servers instead of Win2K3, even though we have a copy of Win2K3 for it. We’re not using .NET, even though we have all of the software for it. The latest version of Crystal Reports is 9, we’re still using 8.5.
So, yeah, I’m confined to Crystal Reports. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, it’s just not the latest and greatest thing.
How funny - literally within a second of posting that, I read an e-mail about upgrading everything to Windows 2003. I don’t see us upgrading Crystal Reports anytime soon though.
