So, I managed to break a lot on my laptop today. I had to reinstall WinAmp (3, no less) like twice; I guess a skin download hosed it. I’m reinstalling Cygwin right now, because for some reason I can’t get a stable X-session connected to my linux box on my network, which is really important to me to be able to do.
It worked for a minute, them BAM! I dunno what happened, but it won’t work now, and Cygwin is a freakin’ huge download the first time.
Massive linking is fun.
On another note, I spent some time over at my LiveJournal, checking out the features. I think my favorite parts are how friends are supported well, including in the comments system, and the method for modifying templates is somewhat intuitive. However, I have to click annoying “Proceed” buttons all over the place. If I’m perma-logged in, I’m probably going to stay perma-logged in. I was able to customize my template how I wanted to, but I had to donate a couple of bucks for the functionality, and soon enough that functionality will run out if I don’t donate more.
More and more, I think the LJ will just be there to mirror content. Besides, it’s for my friends, and they usually have custom friends pages anyways, so no worries.
